# What type of bra should I wear when I measure myself?

A thin, unpadded bra that fits well gives the most reliable measurement, and that’s also how our size chart was developed. A padded, push-up, or shaping bra changes the shape of your bust and adds or removes volume that isn’t your own, which easily leads to the wrong cup size. If you only have padded or shaping styles at home, it’s better to measure without a bra at all.
